Toys & Props – What does Body Paint mean?
Body Paint
Body paint is skin-safe paint applied to a partner’s body, as art, as playful foreplay, or as a long, slow excuse to touch them everywhere.
What does Body Paint mean?
Body paint simply means paint for the body, and painting skin is one of the oldest art forms, found in rituals and festivals around the world. In the bedroom, body paint is skin-safe paint you apply to a partner’s body, as art, as playful foreplay or as a long, slow excuse to touch everywhere. Brushes, sponges and fingertips all work. Some couples paint each other as a sensual date activity, others use edible paint and enjoy removing it just as much.
What paint is safe to use on skin?
Only use paint made for skin, like cosmetic face and body paint or edible body paint. Craft and acrylic paints can irritate the skin and are not meant to be eaten. Test a small spot on the inner arm first, especially with sensitive skin or allergies. Keep paint, and especially sugary edible paint, away from the vulva and the inside of the body, since sugar can upset the natural balance and lead to infections. Wash it off with warm water and mild soap.
How do you start with body painting as a couple?
Treat it like a slow massage with colour. Lay down a towel or an old sheet, warm the room, and take turns being canvas and artist. Start on the back, shoulders or belly, where it’s relaxing, and let the brush wander. Blindfolding the canvas makes every stroke a surprise. Not sure your partner is into it? Body Paint only shows up as a match in the Consent Check if you both said yes.
