BDSM Roles – What types of pet play roles are there?
Types of Pet Play Roles
Pet play roles split into pets and their keepers: pups, kittens and ponies take on an animal persona, while handlers, owners and trainers care for, train and reward them, always between consenting adults.
What makes a pet play role?
A pet role means slipping into an animal headspace: playing, nuzzling, wagging, maybe barking or purring, and leaving human worries behind. Pups are eager and playful, kittens cuddly with attitude, ponies proud and disciplined. The other side looks after the pet. A handler guides and trains, an owner adds a sense of belonging, and a trainer focuses on rules and performance.
Is pet play always sexual?
No. For many it’s mostly about play, comfort and a break from adult life, with no sex at all. Others mix it with power exchange or intimacy. Agree beforehand how a pet signals stop without words, like a tap or a set sound, and keep gear like hoods and mitts comfortable for knees, hands and breathing.
