Toys & Props – What does Anal Douche mean?
Anal Douche
An anal douche is a squeeze bulb or shower attachment used to gently rinse the rectum with water before anal play, if you want to feel extra clean.
What does Anal Douche mean?
Douche comes from the French word “douche”, meaning shower. An anal douche is a squeeze bulb or shower attachment that rinses the rectum with water before anal play. It’s sometimes called an enema bulb, though a real enema uses more water and reaches further. Douching is purely optional. Many people like it for peace of mind before anal sex or pegging, others never bother.
How do you use an anal douche safely?
Use lukewarm plain water, small amounts and a gentle touch. Lube the nozzle, insert it slowly, squeeze in a little water, then release it over the toilet. Repeat a few times until the water runs mostly clear, and stop there. No soap, oils or other additives, they irritate the lining. Douching too often or too much irritates too, so keep it to before play and give your body a little time to settle.
Do you need to douche before anal?
No. Douching is a choice, not a requirement. A fiber-rich diet and a bowel movement beforehand often do more than any rinse, because the rectum is usually close to empty anyway. A towel nearby and a relaxed attitude help too. Anal play can get a little messy sometimes, and that’s completely normal.
