Sex Positions – What does Spork mean?
Spork
Spork is a side-lying sex position where the receiving partner lies on their back and the other lies on their side next to them, legs interlocked, entering from the side.
What does Spork mean?
The name borrows the spork, the camping utensil that is half spoon, half fork. The position is half spooning, half missionary: the receiving partner lies on their back, the other lies on their side next to them, and the receiver drapes both legs over their partner’s hips. Nobody carries any weight, penetration stays fairly shallow, and you can still see each other’s faces. It’s one of the most comfortable positions there is.
How do you do the Spork?
Start in spooning. The partner in front rolls onto their back, keeps their hips close and lifts their legs over their partner’s hips or upper thigh. The partner on the side tucks their lower arm under the pillow and moves in from the side. Adjust until your hips line up, and a pillow under the receiver’s lower back can help. Movement is small and rocking. Both of you have a hand free, so it’s easy to add a vibrator on the clitoris.
Who is the Spork good for?
Anyone who wants sex without strain. There’s no kneeling and no weight on the arms, so it suits bad knees, back pain and tired days. Because depth is limited, it also stays comfortable with a large penis. It often works well during pregnancy too. Later in pregnancy, lying flat on the back can make some people dizzy, so use pillows to tilt slightly onto the side. If your doctor or midwife has advised against sex, follow that advice.
