Toys & Props – What are pervertables?
Pervertables
Pervertables are everyday household items, like wooden spoons, clothespins or scarves, that get used as sex toys or BDSM gear.
What are pervertables?
Pervertables is BDSM community slang, a playful blend of “pervert” and “-ables”. It means everyday household items that get a second life as sex toys or BDSM gear. Classic examples are a wooden spoon as a paddle, clothespins as clamps, scarves for light bondage, a belt, ice cubes or a feather for sensation play. Part of the fun is the creativity, and the grin when you see that spatula in the kitchen the next morning.
What are good pervertables for beginners?
Start with soft, low-risk things you already own, like a silk scarf, a feather, an ice cube or a soft makeup brush. These are great for blindfolding, teasing and temperature play. Once you’re comfortable, a wooden spoon makes an easy first paddle and a few clothespins work as gentle clamps. Try anything on your own arm or thigh first, so you know how hard it hits or pinches.
Are pervertables safe?
They can be, if you check them carefully and keep them outside the body. Never put anything inside the body that isn’t made for it. Household items have no flared base, can break, or are porous and impossible to clean. Check wood for splinters and edges for sharpness, and keep clothespins on only briefly. As with any play, agree on limits and a safe word first.
