Sex Positions – What does Chair Position mean?
Chair Position
Chair Position is a seated sex position where one partner sits on a sturdy chair and the other straddles their lap face to face, controlling depth and pace from on top.
What does Chair Position mean?
It’s named after the one prop you need: a chair. One partner sits, the other sits on their lap facing them, feet on the floor. It’s also called Face Off, because you’re literally face to face. Because the partner on top can push off the floor, they control how deep and how fast things go. It’s quick to get into, works with clothes half on and turns any room with a chair into an option.
How do you do the Chair Position?
Pick a sturdy chair without armrests and put it against a wall so it can’t tip. The seated partner sits upright or leans back slightly. The other straddles them, lowers down slowly and moves by rising and sinking, rocking or grinding. Keep both feet flat on the floor if you can, it takes strain off the knees and gives more control. If the chair is too high, put a cushion under the top partner’s feet.
Who is the Chair Position good for?
It’s kind to bad knees, since nobody kneels, and it evens out height differences because sitting brings you level. It also suits plus-size bodies: there’s room to adjust, and the partner on top can lean back for a better angle. During pregnancy, it’s often comfortable when the pregnant partner sits on top: nobody lies flat on their back, and they control depth. With a bigger bump, leaning back or turning around gives more room. If there’s pain or bleeding, or your doctor advised against sex, stop and check with your doctor or midwife.
