Kinks & Fetishes – What does Blowjob mean?
Blowjob
A Blowjob is oral sex on a penis, where one partner uses their lips, tongue and mouth, often together with a hand, to stimulate the other partner’s penis.
What does Blowjob mean?
Blowjob is English slang from the mid-20th century. Despite the name, nobody blows, and where the word comes from is unclear. The formal term is fellatio, from the Latin “fellare”, meaning to suck. A blowjob is oral sex on a penis using lips, tongue and mouth. It can be slow and teasing, part of foreplay or the main event, and many people combine the mouth with a hand on the shaft. The most sensitive spots are usually the head and the frenulum, the small band of skin on the underside.
How do you give a good blowjob?
Start slowly with kisses and licks, keep your teeth covered by your lips and use your hand on the shaft so your mouth doesn’t have to do all the work. Plenty of saliva or a flavored lube helps. Find a comfortable position, kneeling, lying between their legs or side by side. Ask what feels good and watch their breathing. Agree beforehand where they finish, or whether at all, and nobody pushes a head down without asking.
Can you get STIs from a blowjob?
Yes. Gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes and HPV can pass on through oral sex, in both directions. The risk of HIV is very low, but not zero. A condom, flavored if you like, lowers the risk a lot. Skip oral sex when either of you has a cold sore or genital sores, and avoid brushing or flossing right before. If you have several partners, ask for throat swabs as part of your regular STI tests.
