Relationship Styles – What does Solo Poly mean?
Solo Poly
Solo poly means having several relationships while staying your own main partner: no shared home, no primary couple.
What does solo poly mean?
Solo poly combines “solo”, alone, with “poly”, short for polyamorous. It means having several relationships while staying your own main partner: no shared home, no primary couple, no plan to merge your life with anyone. Solo poly people can be deeply committed. They just keep their independence at the centre.
Is solo poly the same as being single?
No. Solo poly people have real, ongoing relationships, sometimes long-term ones. What they skip is the classic couple package: moving in, merging finances, becoming a unit. Some call it “single at heart”, in love but still independent.
How do you know if you’re solo poly?
If you love having your own space, don’t want a primary partner and feel happiest with several connections that don’t run your whole life, solo poly may fit. It’s less about the number of partners and more about how you want your life to be organised.
