Group Play – What does Threesome mean?
Threesome
A threesome is sex between three people at the same time, in any mix of genders, with everyone involved agreeing to what happens.
What does Threesome mean?
Threesome is an old English word that simply meant a group of three, built from “three” and “some”. Today it means sex between three people at once, in any mix of genders. The French “ménage à trois”, literally “household of three”, is the fancier synonym. Shorthand like FFM or MFM describes the gender mix. A threesome can be a one-off adventure for a couple, a night between friends or a regular part of an open relationship.
How do you bring up a threesome with your partner?
Start with it as a fantasy, not a plan: ask what they think, share what excites you, and listen without pushing. If you both like the idea, talk about who, where, what’s off limits and how you’d handle jealousy. A no or a maybe later is a full answer. Not sure your partner is into it? Threesome only shows up as a match in the Consent Check if you both said yes.
How do you make a threesome go well?
Agree on rules beforehand and make sure the third person knows them too, because all three need to feel welcome, not just the couple. Talk about condoms and STI tests. During it, check in and share attention so nobody ends up left out. Afterwards, talk about how it felt for everyone, including the guest.
