Orientations & Identities – What does gynosexual mean?
Gynosexual
Gynosexual means being attracted to femininity, whoever has it.
What does gynosexual mean?
Gynosexual comes from the Greek “gynē”, meaning woman. Gynosexual means being attracted to femininity, whoever has it. It names what draws you in without labelling your own gender. Soft features, curves, a certain style or a way of moving, on anyone.
Can women be gynosexual?
Yes. Anyone can be gynosexual: women, men and nonbinary people. Nonbinary people often find it more accurate than straight or lesbian, and so does anyone whose attraction follows feminine energy rather than a specific gender.
What’s the difference between gynosexual and straight?
Straight describes attraction to a different gender. Gynosexual describes attraction to femininity, no matter your gender or theirs. A straight man may well be gynosexual, but so can a lesbian or a nonbinary person. And feminine men count too.
