What does packing mean?
Packing means wearing a packer, a soft prosthetic penis, or a simple substitute like rolled-up socks, so your underwear shows a bulge. It’s mostly done by trans men, transmasculine and non-binary people, and drag kings. For many trans people packing eases dysphoria and brings gender euphoria, because clothes fit and the body looks the way it feels. Others pack only for certain outfits, on stage or during sex.
What can you use for packing?
Soft silicone packers are the most popular, in different sizes and skin tones. Some are stand-to-pee devices (STPs) that let you pee standing up, others are “pack and play” models firm enough for sex. Packing underwear with a pouch or a packing harness keeps everything in place. Choose body-safe silicone, wash it with mild soap and water, and dust it with cornstarch if it gets sticky. If your skin gets sore, take breaks and let it breathe.
Can you have sex with a packer?
With pack-and-play models, yes. They’re soft enough to wear all day and firm enough for penetration, though they bend more than a dildo. For more reliable firmness, many switch to a strap-on with a harness during sex. Use lube and put on a condom if you share it, with a fresh one when switching from anal to vaginal sex. Tell your partner how you’d like your body and the packer to be named and touched.
