Sex Positions – What does X Position mean?
X Position
X Position is a slow sex position where partners face each other and lean back until their bodies, with legs crossed between them, form an X, moving in small, gentle motions.
What does X Position mean?
The name describes the shape. You start face to face, one partner on their back and the other straddling them, then the top partner leans back until they’re lying down too, heads at opposite ends. Seen from above, your crossed legs and bodies form an X. You can’t thrust much like this, and that’s the point. Movement is tiny and slow, so arousal builds gradually, which makes it a favorite for slow sex and long, unhurried sessions.
How do you do the X Position?
The partner underneath lies on their back, legs slightly apart. The other straddles them, gets comfortable, then slowly leans back between their partner’s legs until both of you lie flat, legs intertwined. Reach for each other’s hands to stay connected. Instead of thrusting, slide and grind slowly, pulling each other closer with your hands. Pillows under your heads keep it comfortable. Take your time, a small change in angle makes a big difference.
Why is the X Position so intimate?
Even with your heads apart, you’re holding hands and watching each other the whole time. The slow pace makes you both stop rushing and pay attention to every small movement, breath and reaction. It’s also perfect for lazy days, since neither of you carries any weight. If it slips out, laugh and reposition, it happens. Many couples use it as a slow-burning start before switching to something more intense.
