What does Bondage Tape mean?
Bondage comes from a medieval English word for serfdom or captivity, and today it means restraining a partner for pleasure. Bondage tape is a smooth, reusable tape, usually PVC, that sticks only to itself and not to skin or hair, used to restrain or wrap without knots. It’s the easiest entry into bondage, because you just wrap wrists, ankles or limbs and it holds. It comes in bold colours, tears or cuts easily and can be used again. Some people also wrap it over clothing to create a quick, shiny outfit.
Is bondage tape safe?
It’s one of the safer restraints, as long as you never wrap it over the nose or mouth or around the neck. Keep wraps snug but not tight, with room for a finger underneath. Watch for tingling, numbness or cold, bluish skin, and unwrap at once if they appear. Keep blunt-tipped safety shears within reach. Never swap it for duct tape or packing tape, which pull at skin and hair.
How do you use bondage tape?
Wrap it in a few loose layers around wrists, ankles or limbs, pressing each layer onto the one below so it sticks to itself. Try binding wrists together, wrapping arms to the body or a leg to a chair leg. To release, unwrap it or cut it with safety shears. Afterwards, wipe it clean, roll it up and reuse it.
