Toys & Props – What does Bondage Cage mean?
Bondage Cage
A bondage cage is a lockable cage big enough for an adult, used in BDSM and pet play to confine a partner for power exchange, punishment or rest.
What does Bondage Cage mean?
A bondage cage is exactly what it sounds like: a cage used for bondage, usually made of metal bars or wood and big enough to sit, kneel or lie down in. In pet play it’s often called a kennel or dog cage, the pup’s own den. Being locked in is a strong, simple form of power exchange. One person decides when the door opens, the other waits. Some use the cage for punishment or objectification, others as a cozy resting spot between scenes. Many double as furniture, with a padded top that works as a bench.
Is a bondage cage safe?
It can be, with clear rules. The person inside needs room to shift position, plenty of air and padding on the floor. Keep the key in the lock or right next to it, and never leave someone locked in alone, not even for a few minutes. Talk about claustrophobia first, since some people only notice panic once the door closes. Agree on a stop signal that works from inside, set a time limit and offer water and bathroom breaks in longer sessions. Only add gags or tight bondage once you know how the person reacts.
How do you start with cage play?
Start short. Let your partner explore the cage with the door open, then close it for a few minutes while you stay close, talk and touch through the bars. Build the scene around what you both enjoy, like a pup waiting for their handler, a timeout or a slow tease. Afterwards, make time for aftercare, since confinement can stir up stronger feelings than expected.
