Kink Talk – What does Penis mean?
Penis
The penis is the external sex organ made of a shaft and a glans, with erectile tissue that fills with blood during arousal and a urethra that carries urine and semen.
What does Penis mean?
Penis is a Latin word that originally meant tail. It names the external sex organ: the shaft, the glans or head at the tip, and the raised rim around the glans called the corona. On the underside, the frenulum connects the glans to the foreskin, if there is one. Inside run 3 columns of erectile tissue: 2 corpora cavernosa along the top and the corpus spongiosum underneath, which surrounds the urethra and forms the glans. The urethra carries both urine and semen, but never at the same time.
How does an erection work, and where is the penis most sensitive?
With arousal, nerves signal the arteries to widen. Blood rushes into the erectile tissue, which swells and presses the veins shut, so the blood stays in and the penis gets hard. After orgasm, or when arousal fades, it drains away again. Most nerve endings sit in the glans, especially along the corona and the frenulum. Many people love slow attention there, while the shaft often likes a firmer grip. Ask what feels good, since sensitivity varies a lot.
When should you see a doctor about your penis?
See a urologist or doctor if you notice pain, new lumps, sores or a rash, unusual discharge, burning when you pee, or a new bend that wasn’t there before. An erection that won’t go down for more than 4 hours is an emergency, and so is a sudden sharp pain with a cracking sound during sex. Ongoing erection problems are common and treatable, and worth raising too.
