Kinks & Fetishes – What does Feederism mean?
Feederism
Feederism is a fetish around feeding or being fed, with a feeder and a feedee, ranging from sensual feeding as foreplay to stuffing and, for some, intentional weight gain.
What does Feederism mean?
Feederism comes from the role names feeder, the one who feeds, and feedee, the one being fed. It describes arousal or emotional satisfaction from feeding, eating and sometimes the body changes that follow. It’s a wide spectrum. For some it’s sensual feeding by hand as foreplay. Others love stuffing, eating until the belly is full and round, and some want intentional weight gain over time. The scene partly overlaps with the fat acceptance movement, where feederism is also debated.
Is feederism healthy?
Sensual feeding and the occasional huge meal are low-risk. Rapid or large weight gain is different: it raises the risk of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, joint strain and heart problems, and very large amounts at once can cause nausea, vomiting or worse. If weight gain is part of your play, it should be the feedee’s own informed choice, and regular checkups with a doctor are a good idea. The feedee can change their mind at any time, without pressure.
Is feederism an eating disorder?
No, a consensual fetish isn’t an eating disorder. But the two can overlap, so it’s worth staying honest with yourself. Stop and seek help if eating feels compulsive, causes guilt or distress, or involves making yourself throw up, or if one partner pressures or controls what the other eats. A doctor or a kink-aware therapist can help you tell play from harm.
